17-Year-Old Zimbabwean Signs First Contract With Liverpool FC

England based 17-year-old Zimbabwean has signed his first professional contract with English Premier League side Liverpool FC.

Isaac Mabaya was born in England to Zimbabwean parents. Mabaya has been with the club since he was 6 years old.

A statement on the Reds’ website read:

“Isaac Mabaya has signed his first professional contract with Liverpool FC.

“The 17-year-old from Preston has been attending the Academy since the age of six.

“Mabaya broke into the U18s team last season as a 16-year-old and was initially deployed as a wide midfielder.

“A switch mid-season saw him move to full-back, where his ability to sweep forward as an attacking option has been impressive, and he has played at right-back for Marc Bridge-Wilkinson’s U18s this term.”

Mabaya has enjoyed England recognition at U15 and U16 levels but can still switch allegiance to Zimbabwe in future, Soccer 24 reports.

In other news, iHarare reported that man of the moment, Roki bagged two major endorsement deals with MTN and Vodacom through his latest hit song “Screenshot“.

Roki has become the first Zimbabwean artist to clinch a huge deal with both MTN and Vodacom.
MTN and Vodacom are  South Africa’s biggest mobile network providers

With this major endorsement, South Africans using MTN or Vodacom can now use Roki’s song “Screenshot” as their caller tune.

Roki’s latest hit single which was released early in September surpassed 100 000 views within 24 hours of its release on YouTube. The hit song has so far amassed over 400k views.

The fast-rising star collaborated with popular South African record producer, singer, and songwriter Mr. Brown and South African Amapiano star Leon Lee on this hit single.

Just like many of his latest tracks this year, the song was released under Passion Java Records.
