Madzibaba Veshanduko To Appear In Court
The famous Madzibaba Veshanduko, real name is Godfrey Karembera, is set to appear in court today.
He [Madzibaba Veshanduko] is appearing at the magistrate court in Harare at 8:30am in court 6. He is charged for Undermining Police Authority as defined in Section 177 (a)(i) of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act Chapter 9:23.
This has been confirmed by staunch opposition supporter Hopewell Chin’ono through his Twitter account.
According to Chin’ono’s post, Madzibaba Veshanduko allegedly shouted obscenities to the police officers accusing them of being puppets of Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.
Madzibaba veShandoko’s matter is scheduled for 8:30 am tomorrow (Monday) in Court 6 at the magistrates courts.
1.He is being charged with Undermining Police Authority as defined in Section 177 (a) (i) of the Criminal Law Codification & Reform Act Chapter 9:23.
2. It is alleged by the State that he said;
“Mapurisa makam@ma makajaira kushandiswa nana Chiwenga, muri imbwa dzevanhu munoita semuno tambiriswa goridhe sei?”
Madzibaba Veshanduko is alleged to have been viciously attacked by the police and sustained deep cuts behind his back and swollen legs.
The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) supporter was left hospitalized at Parirenyatwa Hospital where he was visited by the party president Nelson Chamisa.
It has been reported that rogue police officers were arrested for ill-treating Madzibaba Veshanduko.
In a statement, the Ministry of Information said:
As part of their investigation into allegations of ill-treatment of a suspect in custody, some police officers have been arrested. We will release more information when it becomes available.
